Mary Wangari Kenda
Mary is the third born in a family of five. Her family was displaced after the political violence in Narok, and her father died in January 2014. Mary’s mom was forced to take her kids with her to do casual work to earn a living during the day. At the beginning of 2015, the mother got sick and was admitted to Gilgil district hospital. The children continued working to help pay the mother's medical bills. The pastor of their church asked Strong Tower to take in the children so that they would have a safe place to sleep and be able to attend school. They are grateful to be able to continue their education.
