Mary Wanjiku Nyokabi
Mary is the fourth born of five children. Her mother passed away after being bitten by a snake. She was left in the care of her elderly grandmother, who was often in the hospital due to illness. Mary would be left to the kindness of well-wishers during these times, often going to bed hungry. Due to her circumstances, she has joined the Tumaini home where three of her siblings were already living. Mary is now able to attend school while living in a safe and nurturing environment. She hopes to become a doctor so she can help others who are sick.
