Susan, the second of three children, lost her mother shortly after the birth of her youngest brother due to cardiorespiratory failure from acute kidney injury. She was raised by her elderly grandparents, who struggle with health issues and financial hardship. Taking on the role of both a big sister and mother, Susan fetched firewood and did most of the household chores. Frequently going to school without lunch or proper uniforms, Susan was bullied, but despite these challenges, she remains determined to put more effort into her studies and dreams of becoming a nurse. At Tumaini, we hope to help her dreams come true!
